How do I find a replacement for an electric motor?
Send a photo of the nameplate and of the motor installed. We need the type designation, rated voltage, power, speed, flange or frame size and shaft dimensions; for gear motors also the ratio and output shaft. If the exact motor is discontinued, we compare successors and equivalents that fit the same mounting and electrical connection, and tell you about any change in parameters.
How do you source components for a control cabinet?
From a bill of materials or the cabinet drawing. Send the list with manufacturer part numbers, or describe the function: number of I/O points, fieldbus, motor power, HMI size. We source the items, check compatibility between them and can deliver everything in one shipment. Where a listed part is not available, we propose an equivalent.
What is a brushless DC motor?
A brushless DC motor replaces the mechanical commutator and brushes of a classic DC motor with electronic commutation. The windings sit in the stator, permanent magnets on the rotor, and an electronic controller switches the current based on rotor position. Without brushes there is less wear and less maintenance, and the motor is easy to control in speed and position.
Which drive should I choose: an AC drive or a servo drive?
Use an AC drive when you need to control the speed of an induction motor on pumps, fans, conveyors or mixers. Use a servo drive with a servo motor when the machine needs precise position, fast acceleration and synchronized axes, as in packaging, handling or machine tool feeds. Some applications use both on the same machine, depending on the axis.
