SRV / REVERSE ENGINEERING
Reverse engineering machine parts and process equipment
We reverse engineer worn and discontinued machine parts and whole units, including complex process equipment, and hand over the technical documentation you need to repair, replace or remanufacture them. The work also tells us which parameters a replacement must meet.
-
OP 10
Measurement and 3D scanning
We measure the part or assembly and capture its geometry. Complex and free-form shapes are captured by 3D scanning.
-
OP 20
CAD model and drawings
From the measurement data we build a CAD model and prepare drawings with dimensions and tolerances.
-
OP 30
Equipment parameters
We determine the parameters the equipment or part has to meet, so a replacement can be specified correctly.
-
OP 40
Equivalent or new manufacture
With the documentation ready, we look for an equivalent from a manufacturer in our catalog or place the part into production.

OP 50
What you receive
Technical documentation for further work with the equipment: the CAD model, drawings and the list of key parameters.
We take on a job only where reproducing the part does not infringe the manufacturer's patents, design rights or software licenses.
How we work
- 01You describe the part or equipment and send photos or existing drawings.
- 02We agree the scope: one part, an assembly or a whole unit.
- 03We measure and scan, then build the CAD model.
- 04We hand over the documentation and, if needed, find an equivalent or arrange manufacturing.

Questions and answers
How does reverse engineering of machine parts work?
The part is measured or 3D scanned, the geometry is turned into a CAD model, and drawings with dimensions and tolerances are made from it. That documentation is then used to order a spare part, find an equivalent or repair the equipment. The process applies to single parts as well as complex process equipment.
What documentation do I get after reverse engineering?
You get the technical documentation needed for further work with the equipment: a CAD model, drawings and a list of the parameters a replacement has to meet. The exact set is agreed before work starts and depends on whether you plan to manufacture, repair or replace.
What is reverse engineering used for in manufacturing?
It recovers the design of a part or machine when the original drawings are missing or the manufacturer no longer supplies it. Plants use it to make spare parts, replace worn components and specify new equipment that fits existing lines.
Which is better: an equivalent or a part made to drawings?
If a manufacturer in our catalog makes a part that matches the key parameters, an equivalent is usually simpler to obtain. If none fits, the part is made to the drawings. We compare both routes once the documentation is ready.
Do you check whether a part may be reproduced?
Yes, before work starts. We take on a job only where making the part does not infringe the manufacturer's patents, design rights or software licenses. If the part is still sold by its original manufacturer, buying it there is often the faster route anyway.
Need documentation for a part or a machine?
Send a description and photos. We will tell you what can be measured and what you will receive.
