HEIDENHAIN

HEIDENHAIN is a German manufacturer of measuring and control technology for machine tools and motion systems. HEIDENHAIN equipment falls into two big groups: encoders that tell a machine where its axes are, and CNC controls that run the machine. Around them sit touch probes, length gauges, digital readouts and test devices.

The encoder range is wide. It includes sealed and exposed linear encoders, angle encoders with and without integral bearings, and external and motor-mounted rotary encoders. On the control side, the HEIDENHAIN site listed the TNC7 as the flagship for milling in October 2026; the TNC 640, 620 and 320 cover other machine classes, and the CNC PILOT 640 and MANUALplus 620 serve lathes.
