VDF Boehringer

VDF Boehringer is a German turning brand whose history in horizontal turning goes back to 1844. Today it is part of FFG Europe & Americas. VDF Boehringer machine tools are modular lathes and turning centers for single parts and small to medium batches, plus turnkey systems for crankshaft machining developed with the automotive industry.

The modular build lets a machine be assembled to the customer's spec. Polymer concrete beds give stiffness and damping, and linear roller guides keep accuracy over a long service life. Typical parts are railway axles, steering knuckles, turbine parts, gears and shafts for electric motors and pumps. The T/TM centers also handle hard turning as an alternative to grinding.
