Universal Robots

Universal Robots is a Danish company that has developed collaborative robots since its founding in 2005. Universal Robots equipment is built as one automation platform with three robot families that share the same software base, so integration and programming carry over from one arm to another. Each family targets a different payload and working environment.

The company says its arms are up to 70% lighter than comparable traditional robots, which makes mounting simpler. Safety is configured in the controller: limits on speed, force, axes and working zones, with power and force limiting always active. Grippers, vision systems and software from partners are listed in the UR Marketplace.
