Daicel is a Japanese chemical group that started out with celluloid and still works with cellulose-based materials. For laboratories the relevant part is narrower. Daicel analytical instruments in the strict sense are not on offer; what the company supplies is chiral chromatography columns, sold under CHIRALPAK, CHIRALCEL and CROWNPAK. Pharmaceutical labs use them to separate enantiomers by HPLC and SFC, and Daicel also runs a separation service through its Chiral Technologies companies in North America, Europe, China and India.
