Sedere is a small French company near Orléans that does one thing: evaporative light scattering detectors for chromatography. Sedere analytical instruments are used where a UV detector sees nothing, for example sugars, lipids, surfactants and many pharmaceutical excipients without a chromophore. The low-temperature design, which Sedere calls LT-ELSD, evaporates the mobile phase gently so that semi-volatile compounds are not lost. The detectors connect to HPLC systems from other manufacturers, and Sedere supplies drivers for common chromatography data systems.
